De La Soul performed with Damon Albarn at his two Sydney Opera House shows on Tuesday night
Damon Albarn was scheduled to play the first of his two Sydney concerts at the Sydney Opera House last night but the show was postponed due to the Sydney siege.
The Monday night show was rescheduled for 7.00pm Tuesday and Tuesday’s 8pm performance was moved to 9.30pm.
De La Soul performed with Albarn at both shows joining Damon in the encore for ‘Feelgood Inc’. They did not perform with him in Melbourne. Melbourne MC Remi and Tasmania’s Southern Gospel Choir and String Quartet, who did perform with Damon in Melbourne, will return for the Sydney shows,
Albarn will perform with his new live band The Heavy Seas, including guitarist Seye Adelekan, drummer Pauli The PSM, guitarist Jeff Wootton and Mike Smith on keyboards – with the addition of a string quartet and six-member choir.
All concerts last night at the Sydney Opera House, including the Damon Albarn show, were cancelled in light of the Martin Place siege.
