Deep Purple have a very busy 2017 planned, but could it be their last hurrah?
The new album, which will be called Infinite, will be out, supposedly, in the early spring. Recorded in Nashville earlier this year, the band has been working on the mixing ever since.
The announcement of the new album came earlier this week on Facebook.
On Friday, the band announced that they would be touring the U.K. in November 2017 and were calling it “The Long Goodbye”. While the band has not stated the reason for the title, it would be reasonable to assume that they are starting to wind down the career which will hit its 50th year in 2018.
So far, only five dates have been announced:
11/17 – Birmingham – Barclaycard Arena
11/18 – Manchester – Arena
11/20 – Cardiff – Motorpoint Arena
11/22 – Glasgow – SSE Hydro
11/23 – London – O2
The current edition of Deep Purple is Ian Paice, Ian Gillan, Roger Glover, Steve Morse and Don Airey.
