Phil Collen, guitarist for Def Leppard, is the latest to tell his story in book form.
Adrenalized: Life, Def Leppard, and Beyond will be issued October 27 by Atria Books in North America. The book will include never before seen photos of Collen and the rest of the members of the band both on-stage and off along with Collen’s story in his own words.
Collen said of the book “It’s fascinating for even me to look back at my life from working in a factory at 16 years old to eventually traveling the world selling over one hundred million records and all the experiences that come with that journey. I realize that there is a constant evolution of ‘me’ that is still a work in progress even as I continue to be vital and dynamic in my same occupation for the past 35 years well into my late fifties.”
Def Leppard was formed in 1977 in Sheffield, England with original guitarist Pete Willis. Collen joined in 1982 when Willis was fired for excessive drinking. His first album with the group was 1983’s Pyromania, the first of the band’s two albums to sell over ten million copies. They would do it again with their next album, 1987’s Pyromania making them one of only five bands to have two albums exceed the 10 million mark.
