Delta Goodrem will play Grizabella in the upcoming Australian production of Cats.
“I am so excited to be making my musical theatre debut as Grizabella in ‘Cats’, one of the most iconic roles. Andrew Lloyd Webber’s work is extraordinary and his music speaks to people all around the world,” Delta said in a statement. “I am so honoured to have the opportunity to share Andrew’s music and Grizabella with a whole new generation of Australian audiences. I grew up admiring Andrew Lloyd Webbers’ musicals, so it is with great honour I am getting to join the ‘Cats’ legacy”.
‘Cats’ will open in Sydney on October 30 and then head to Hobart, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth.

Sydney, Capitol Theatre from October 30
Hobart, Derwent Entertainment Centre, December 10-13
Melbourne, Regent Theatre, from December 18
Brisbane, Lyric Theatre, from January 29
Adelaide, Festival Centre, Match 18-April 10
Perth, Crown Theatre, April 16-May 8
