Lena Dunham “really connects” to Demi Lovato songs.
The Girls creator took to Twitter to reveal she is a fan of the 20-year-old pop singer. Lena explained Demi’s lyrics from her new single Heart Attack have really resonated with her.
“I really connect to the Heart Attack song by that Lovato girl, especially the part about refusing to wash your hair (sic),” she wrote.
In Heart Attack Demi sings about trying not to fall in love and the lyrics include the lines, ”When I don’t care I can play ’em like a Ken doll, won’t wash my hair, then make ”em bounce like a basketball”.
TV star Lena had a busy weekend. The 27-year-old actress received the Barnard Medal of Distinction at Barnard College in New York on Sunday.
She was awarded the honour for being a “pathmaker in her field” after winning a string of awards as creator, director, writer and star of acclaimed TV series Girls.
Lena posted a photograph on Instagram where she posed in a black graduation gown, and she compared the prestigious liberal arts college for women to the famous establishment in the Harry Potter series.
“graduation day at Barnard/everyday at Hogwarts (sic),” she wrote in the accompanying caption.
Lena went on to reveal she was far better behaved at the Barnard ceremony, than at her actual graduation ceremony. She jokingly revealed her delight at having the opportunity to make up for her past actions.
“I’m a guest at Barnard College graduation today. At my own graduation I sobbed, hit my mother & fell asleep so pretty psyched for a redo (sic),” she tweeted before the ceremony.
