Michael Pilmer, the webmaster for the official Devo website, ClubDevo.com, has started a campaign on gofundme.com to help the family of the late Bob Casale financially.
Pilmer, with the support of the other band members, is looking to raise $100,000 for the family to defray costs for Casale’s funeral, medical/hospital bills and general family expenses. Up only a short time, the campaign has already raised over $12,000.
Additional information from Rolling Stone says that, when Casale died last month from sudden heart failure, he did not have a will or life insurance, adding to his family’s situation. The magazine also says that the group will donate a portion of their upcoming tour, if they decide to go forward with it, to Casale’s family.
Donations can be made at gofundme.com/Bob-Casale-Donations.
