Dexys Midnight Runners reformed in 2003 under the simpler name of Dexys, producing the 2012 album One Day I’m Going to Soar.
From April 15 to 27, 2013, the band played a residency at the Duke of York Theatre in London’s West End with a film crew in attendance for the last few shows. That footage was assembled into the new documentary Nowhere is Home which premiered at the South Bank’s British Film Institute back on May 9.
Now, the general public will get the chance to see the movie at 37 Vue cinemas across Britain on Monday, July 21 at 7:45 local time. In addition, those who book tickets by July 7 will release a 7″ vinyl single of Nowhere is Home / I Love You (Listen to This), the band’s first physical single since 1986.
The film was directed by Kieran Evans and Paul Kelly who have interspersed interviews with Kevin Rowland and Jim Patterson throughout the movie telling the story of Dexys.
