Chris Lighty, manager of Diddy, Mariah Carey, Ja Rule and 50 Cent, shot himself dead in the street outside his Bronx apartment on Thursday (August 30, 2012).
Police say 44-year old Lighty had just had a fight with his estranged wife when he left the apartment, pulled out a gun and shot himself.
Lighty was the founder of Violator Manager that later became Primary Violator.
Police were called to 670 West 232nd St in the Bronx at 11:30am yesterday where the body was discovered with a shot to the head.
Chris Lighty started his career in the 80s and launched the careers of Missy Elliott, Nas and LL Cool J.
The New York Daily News reports that he was dealing with tax issues and owed the IRS $5 million.
