Dinah Jane of Fifth Harmony Signs Solo Deal

Fifth Harmony’s Dinah Jane has signed a solo record deal with L.A. Reid’s Hitco label.

The 21-year-old songstress made her debut solo feature on all-star track Boom Boom alongside Daddy Yankee, RedOne and French Montana last October (17), but has now been confirmed to be working with the American music executive, who helped form the pop band during his stint as a judge on The X Factor in 2012, on new solo material.

Editors at Variety confirmed on Thursday (16Aug18) that the Work From Home hitmaker will release a new solo single in the coming weeks after joining forces with a number of music industry powerhouses including songwriters MoZella, who co-wrote Miley Cyrus’ Billboard number one track Wrecking Ball, and Priscilla Renea, who worked on Fifth Harmony’s 2015 hit Worth It.

Dinah will join a roster of artists currently signed to the label, including Outkast’s Big Boi and rappers Skinnyfromthe9, Yella Beezy and DJ Holiday.

She is the last member of Fifth Harmony to embark on a solo career following the group’s hiatus announcement in March and the subsequent departures of bandmates Camila Cabello, Normani Kordei, Lauren Jauregui and Ally Brooke.

American-Cuban singer Camila, 21, went on to land a number one solo album and single with the 2018 hit Havana, while Normani, 22, signed with Keep Cool/RCA records and hit number 15 on the Hot 100 with her Khalid duet, Love Lies.

Meanwhile, 22-year-old Lauren has released a host of collaborations with Halsey, Steve Aoki, and Marian Hill and has hinted at a forthcoming solo album, while Ally, 25, is also believed to be worked on a debut album with Atlantic Records and Latium Entertainment.
