DJ E-Z Rock, aka Rodney ‘Skip’ Boyce is dead at the age of 46.
E-Z Rock had a Billboard dance hit with ‘It Takes Two’ in 1988 when the song peaked at no 3 catapulting the ‘It Talks Two’ album to 1,000,000+ sales in America.
Snoop Dogg later sampled the track as did Gang Starr.
‘It Takes Two’ used samples of James Brown the the Lyn Collins song ‘Think (About You)’.
In 2008 ‘It Takes Two’ was ranked no 37 on VH!’s greatest songs of hip-hop.
The death of DJ E-Z Rock was announced by Biz Markie on Twitter. “R.I.P. TO EZ ROCK FROM ROB BASE AND EZ ROCK YOU WILL TRULY BE MISSED,” he said.
