Don Henley gave his first live preview of his upcoming album, Cass County, in an 18-song show at the Moody Theater in Austin, TX, a performance that was taped for a future edition of Austin City Limits.

While this may not be the final set list for a series of shows he’ll be doing in the coming months, it does give an idea of the mix of music that he will be playing. Henley performed eleven of the sixteen songs from the deluxe version of the album, skipping Waiting Tables, Too Far Gone, The Brand New Tennessee Waltz, Too Much Pride and A Younger Man.

Mixed in were just a few songs from three of his four previous studio albums, skipping over 2000’s Inside Job. One song, Talking to the Moon from I Can’t Stand Still, was a special performance as Henley said “I only do this song when I’m in Texas.”

Along for the ride on Tuesday were Jamey Johnson and Ashley Monroe who filled in for Mick Jagger and Miranda Lambert on Bramble Rose while Monroe replaced Dolly Parton on When I Stop Dreaming and Johnson for Merle Haggard for The Cost of Living. Martina McBride was the only guest from Cass County to perform at the show on That Old Flame.
