Americana rock band South Rail will head to the studio with Rolling Stones producer Don Was.
The Washington D.C. based three-piece band is Lara Supan on keyboards and vocals, Jay Byrd on guitar and vocals and Ben Potok on drums and percussion. They describe their influences as “Bob Dylan, Wilco, and Levon Helm, with Lara’s Jazz and Soul influences, more akin to Norah Jones and Adele”,
Potok tells Noise11.com, “Don caught a show of ours in Nashville recently, and we are now excited to begin working on our next release with him in November.”
Don Was produced The Rolling Stones ‘A Bigger Bang’, Jackson Browne’s ‘I’m Alive’, David Crosby ‘Thousand Roads’, Bob Dylan ‘Under A Blood Red Sky’ and Bonnie Raitt’s ‘Nick Of Time’.
His most recent production was John Mayer’s Paradise Valley’. He also co-produced the recent Aaron Neville album ‘My True Story’ with Keith Richards.
South Rail released their self-titled E.P. in April this year. All songs were written by Lara and Jay and produced by Ben.
