Donald Trump’s star may be on the rise among those running for the Republican Presidential nomination, but he may need a bit of a boost in Iowa where he ran nine points behind Scott Walker in today’s caucus.
To boost his image, Trump is scheduled to be at the Iowa State Fair on August 15 with one of his jobs for the day being the introduction of Def Leppard at their concert.
Trump being involved with their show is not sitting well with guitarist Viv Campbell, who posted on his Facebook:
“I really, really, really hope that there’s no truth to this rumour. Def Leppard have never been a political band, and if we were, I for one wouldn’t be associating my name with this clown.”
Campbell’s Facebook page has been a hotbed of controversy since he made his statement. The majority are in favor of his position but there is a vocal group who have attacked the guitarist over his view or even whether he should be involved in political opinion.
Campbell has been fighting Hodgkin’s Lymphoma since 2013 and has just recently seen it make a resurgence in his system. He has worked with doctors to allow him to be treated while still being on tour with the band.
