Donovan Leith will be inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame, according to Howard Stern.
Who knows how the King of All Media does it, but Howard Stern broke the news today that Donovan is one of this year’s inductees into the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame.
The full announcement is not due until next Monday.
Donovan was a guest on Stern’s show when he broke the news to the singer/songwriter. Inducted last year into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Donovan said of the news “A light is shinning on all my work. What more can I ask for?”
Donovan’s recording and songwriting career has gone hand-in-hand with his long list of compositions including his biggest hits including Catch the Wind, Colours, Sunshine Superman, Mellow Yellow, There is a Mountain, Wear Your Love Like Heaven, Hurdy Gurdy Man and Atlantis.
In return, Donovan presented Stern with the very first Donovan Gibson Guitar, a J45 model that he used to write all of his hits.
