Dr Dre was the highest paid music person of 2014 earning almost $20 per second.
Dr Dre earned $19.66 for every second of every minute of every hour of every day last year. On December 31, 2014 at 11:59pm he was $620,000,000 better off than when he started the year.
Dre made his fortune after the sale to Apple of the company he started with music executive Jimmy Iovine.
Beyonce has the biggest earning pop star of 2014 earning $3.65 per second or $115,000,000 by the end of the year. Beyonce earned her keep through a world tour, a new album and endorsement deals from Pepsi and H&M. Her husband Jay-Z also brought in an additional $60,000,000 or $1.90 per second giving the Z family a combined income of $175,000,000.
The richest rock act of 2014 was the Eagles earning $3.17 per second or $100,000,000 for the year. Almost all of the Eagles money came from touring the History of the Eagles world tour that next flows through Australia in February 2015.
By comparison, Calvin Harris earning a measly $2.09 per second of $66,000,000 for the year seems a poor effort but remember unlike the Eagles, he doesn’t have to split his pay packet.
Toby Keith was the highest paid country star of 2014. He made $2.06 per second or $65,000,000 for the year. That is $1.1 million a week.
Bruce Springsteen was the highest paid rock star earning $2.57 per second of $81,000,000 for the year. Bruce pulled more coin that Sir Paul McCartney who made $2.25 per second or $71,000,000 for 2014.
