Drug dealer Tina Phan, who was caught smuggling 394 ecstasy capsules in the Knockout Games of Destiny Festival in Sydney in December, has been sentenced to a ridiculous 80 hours community service.

19 year old Callum Brosnan died after taking drugs at the Festival but it is unknown if the drugs came from Phan.

18-year old Phan smuggled the drugs into the Festival in condoms inside her body. Her intention was to sell the drugs at the Festival.

Phan was waiting to study for a nursing career. She used her family’s financial struggles as the reason she was selling the drugs.

The Australian Festivals Association this week opened dialogue with State governments to put a pill testing system in place. Two people died from overdoses at the Beyond the Valley and Lost Paradise festivals over new years.

To really keep punters safe, Government also need to address the legal issue and stop our legal system being more lenient with drug dealers than they are with traffic fines.

Double J was a Sydney only radio station when it first went to air at 11am on 19 January 1975. The first song played was Skyhooks ‘You Just Like Me ‘Cos I’m Good In Bed’ chosen because it was Australian, it was rebellious (because the song was banned at the time which reflected the rebellious image of the station) and being part of the ABC was not subject to the licencing laws of the commercial radio stations.
