The Duran Duran concert film, Duran Duran: Unstaged, will play in theaters across the country on Wednesday, September 10.
Directed by David Lynch (Blue Velvet, The Elephant Man, Twin Peaks), the film is said to be unique for a concert documentary, combining “the band’s energy and Lynch’s playful interventions on the grand scale they so uniquely merit.”
Duran Duran performs eighteen songs during the show including such favorites as Hungry Like the Wolf, Rio, A View to a Kill and Ordinary World. Guests in the film include Gerard Way of My Chemical Romance, The Gossip’s Beth Ditto, Mark Ronson and Kelis.
The film was shot on March 23, 2011 at the Mayan Theatre in Los Angeles as part of the American Express Unstaged concert series while the band was promoting their album All You Need is Now. Lynch originally directed the on-line stream for the show but went back later to enhance the experience for this release.
Tickets go on sale on Friday (August 15).
