The ‘Rio’ hitmakers – who are made up of singer Simon Le Bon, bassist John Taylor, drummer Roger Taylor and keyboardist Nick Rhodes – don’t often see eye-to-eye but they still “really value” each other’s work and wouldn’t want to play with anyone else.

John exclusively told BANG Showbiz: “We argue all the time. But we’ve learnt. We really value each other, we really love each other and we all still believe.

“I buy a lot of music but there’s nobody I’m really busting to work with particularly – these are the guys I want to work with. And these are the guys I believe can still get the best out of me.”

John formed the group with Nick in Birmingham in 1978, and the bassist admits it was a “pretty powerful” feeling meeting fellow musicians who shared the same passion as him to create a successful band.

He added: “I’ve got children who are in their 20s and I’ve got nephews who are looking for a job and that’s when you realise that when you’re 18 years old and you know exactly what you want to do and you meet four other guys who really want to the same thing – that’s pretty powerful.”
