Earth Wind & Fire Tell Trump To Stop Using Their Music

At this point, Donald Trump might want to find some nice public domain music, or all Ted Nugent songs, to play at his rallies.

All week, a number of artists have come out against Trump and the Republican National Committee for using their music during the Republican Convention. The latest to join the fray are Earth, Wind and Fire and the O’Jays.

Earlier, Earth, Wind and Fire’s September was played during the proceedings which prompted the band to tweet their displeasure, referencing the earlier use of Queen’s We Are the Champions.

Today, the O’Jays issued a statement to the press criticizing Trump for using their hit Love Train and a number of variations on the song (including Trump Train) throughout his campaign. Members Eddie Levert and Walter Williams said:

Our music, and most especially, Love Train is about bringing people together, not building walls. I don’t appreciate being associated with Mr. Trump and his usage of our music without permission.
Levert later added “I don’t agree, whatsoever, with Trump’s politics to the point where I think he just may be the anti-Christ.”

The O’Jays have actually had a history with Trump. Their song For the Love of Money has been used as the theme for his The Apprentice and The Celebrity Apprentice franchises and they appeared on the finale for the first season of the show to perform the song.
