Ed Sheeran and Ruby Rose will host the MTV EMAs in October (15).
The Photograph singer and the Orange is the New Black actress will team up to present the network’s European Music Awards in Milan, Italy.
The pair announced the news on Twitter on Wednesday (30Sep15).
‘So excited to be hosting the MTV EMAS In Milan with Mr @edsheeran!!!’ Ruby wrote. ‘See you there!!’
Ed and Ruby then shared a picture of themselves promoting the upcoming ceremony.
Redhead Ed could well have a busy night as he is also nominated for the Best Male and Best Live Act awards at the event.
The occasion is also likely to see Ed present an award to best friend Taylor Swift, who is up for an incredible nine gongs including Best Song for Bad Blood, Best Pop, Best Female and Best Live Act.
Ruby could also be presenting an award to a friend as her pal Justin Bieber, who she previously called her ‘brother’ thanks to their similar hairstyles, is also up for various awards such as Best Pop, Best Male and Best Collaboration for Where Are U Now with Diplo and Skrillex.
Both Ed and Ruby have a difficult act to follow, as the 2014 ceremony, which was hosted by Nicki Minaj, was “most widely distributed show in MTV EMA history’ after getting a 17% increase in ratings.
Prior to presenting the awards, Nicki admitted she was nervous but optimistic that she would do well in the role.
‘Oh my God, everything I do I’m remembered,’ Nicki told MTV News. ‘Are you kidding me? You know damn well they are going to remember Nicki Minaj hosting the show.’
Ed has enjoyed huge success this year after playing three sold-out nights at London’s Wembley Stadium in July. His latest release x was nominated for Album of the Year at the Grammy Awards in February, but he lost out on the prize to Beck who won for their record Morning Phase.
Meanwhile, Ruby was launched into the spotlight thanks to her role as Stella Carlin in prison-based drama Orange is the New Black.
