Drew Lane’s adaptation of the 1984 movie ‘Electric Dreams’ will staged in Melbourne in November.
The 1984 movie was about a man and his artificially intelligent computer discovering the love the same woman (seriously, the 80s huh!).
Lane has taken the boy-girl-computer threesome storyline, kept it in the year 1984 and included 22 songs from the 1980s.
The cast is Tom Green as Miles (Miss Saigon; Gladys Moncrieff Award; The Project) and Madeleine Featherby (Paris: A Rock Odyssey; Follies; LaTraviata), as Madeleine, the girl next door and cellist extraordinaire.
Electric Dreams also stars Stephen Mahy (Miss Saigon; Jersey Boys; Mamma Mia; Crossroads!) as Miles’ Casanovan best pal, and Angela Scundi (Rocky Horror Show; Thoroughly Modern Millie; Tick Tick Boom), as Madeleine’s, the thoroughly modern Millie. Owen James plays Edgar, the computer with human aspirations with Sophie Loughran, Zak Brown, Anthony Scundi, Courtney Smyth and Aidan Nairros.
