Former Killing Heidi singer Ella Hooper has won a radio award.
Ella picked up the Best Newcomer Award for her program on Southern Cross Austereo’s digital channel Radar at the ACRA’s (Australian Commercial Radio Awards) in Sydney last night.
Ella formed Killing Heidi with her brother Jesse in 1996 when she was 13. They had a number one hit in Australia in 2000 with ‘Mascara’.
After Killing Heidi, Jesse and Ella formed The Verses, toured with Fleetwood Mac and released one album through Warner Music.
Ella is about to release her first solo album.
