Elton John Is Not Playing For Trump

by Roger Wink, VVN Music on November 24, 2016

It seems that president-elect Donald Trump’s people are a little confused as to who they want to play at the inauguration and who is even willing.

Last week, Vince Neil of Motley Crue said that he was invited to perform but, less than a day later, was uninvited. No reason was given but, perhaps, the Trump people found out about his many arrests or that he is a contestant on Donald’s old show The New Celebrity Apprentice.

Then, Trump inauguration committee member Anthony Scaramucci said that Elton John would be performing, telling BBC News “this’ll be the first American president in U.S. history that enters the White House with a pro-gay rights stance. Elton John is going to be doing our concert on the mall for the inauguration.”

That’s news to Elton John who not only told Trump to stop using his music at campaign events but also is, most likely, not buying the president-elect’s “pro-gay” stance, especially since his VP is pointedly anti-LGBTQ rights.

A spokesman for Elton has simply said “Elton will not be performing at Trump’s inauguration.”

So, the search goes on. Perhaps they should be talking to Ted Nugent’s people.
