Sir Elton John was back at Rod Laver Arena last night where he last played only last December.

2Cellos, Elton’s support act from last year is still with him but he also introduced his new protégé, 22-year old Schmidt at the start of the show.
Elton was touring again with his long-time band featuring Davey Johnstone and Nigel Olsson.
The setlist featured his greatest hits as well as the Honky Chateau song ‘Mona Lisas and Mad Hatters’ dedicated to the New York disaster and Australia’s bushfire victims.
