Elvis Costello will now perform for one night only in Melbourne following the cancellation of the Adelaide show.
In a brutally honest statement promoter Chugg Entertainment announced, “Elvis Costello & The Imposters’ Adelaide date at the Thebarton Theatre on the Thursday 17th April, will no longer be going ahead. Less than anticipated ticket sales have unfortunately made it impossible to proceed.”
Elvis Costello also said farewell to Adelaide in a Facebook post. “It seems you are too few in number for our show at the Thebarton Theatre to go ahead.
We regret any inconvenience and disappointment caused . We are sorry not to be visiting your fair city and state, as the opportunities to do so in the future may not be numerous. So long, it’s been good to know you. Elvis Costello and The Imposters”
Elvis Costello and the Imposters will perform at Melbourne’s Hamer Hall on April 17. Costello will also do the festival circuit with the band at Deni Blues & Roots Festival, Bluesfest Byron Bay and West Coast Blues and Roots Festival.
