Elvis Costello and the Imposters will release ‘Look Now’, their first album in 10 years, in October.
The Imposters features Elvis Costello (vocals, guitar), Steve Nieve (keyboards), Davey Faragher (bass) and Pete Thomas (drums).
Costello recorded ‘Look Now’ in Hollywood, New York and Vancouver.
In 2014 Elvis Costello told Noise11.com that he would never make another album. “There is no need to make another one,” he tells Noise11. “There might be a desire. It doesn’t have anything to do with me making my living. There’s not the same type of opportunities to record presenting themselves”.
But that has all changed. Elvis is back in the building. “I knew if we could make an album with the scope of ‘Imperial Bedroom’ and some of the beauty and emotion of ‘Painted From Memory’, we would really have something”, he said.
‘Look Now’ was co-produced by Elvis and Sebastian Krys. “In the final mixing, Sebastian did a beautiful job of keeping everything present but always lead by emotion or narrative, although when balancing the band, my voice and the quartet of woodwinds and horns that I’d written for ‘Stripping Paper’, I told him to “Just trust the blur,” he said.
