Your dreams of being buried where Elvis Presley and his mother were once entombed have ended for now.
The Memphis crypt that was to be auctioned this weekend by Julien’s Auctions has been removed from the lots that will go under the gavel on Saturday afternoon and all day Sunday.
The tomb in Forrest Hill Cemetery, which held the bodies of Elvis and his mother for two months while arrangements were made to allow them to be buried at Graceland, remains empty to this day but it appears the owners of the cemetery objected to the method of sale.
According to Julien’s the site won’t be sold “until Forest Hills finds a plan that best suits the interests of the fans while respecting and preserving the memory of Elvis Presley.”
We will have news of the biggest sales from the auction when they are available.
