Eminem could hold for a third week with his “Marshall Mathers LP 2”, with his closest competition is coming from X-Factor 2013 winner Dami Im with her self-titled album or the new swing album from Robbie Williams “Swings Both Ways”.
With Birdy in the country and performing on ‘Dancing with the Stars’, her current album “Fire Within” could rebound into the Top 10 (TW-65), and sit alongside Top 10 retainers Katy Perry and “Prism”, Tina Arena with “Reset” Lorde and “Pure Heroine”, whilst the new Nickelback collection “The Best of Volume 1” could make a Top 10 debut this week.
With John Legend gaining a hit single from his “Love in the Future” album, the set could return to the Top 20 this week (TW-98), whilst we could also see a twenty entry for Little Mix and their second album “Salute”, with the soundtrack for “The Hunger Games” Catching Fire” making a possible Top 30 entry this week. The other new entries for the week could be the second album for Jake Bugg, “Shangri La” and the self-titled new album for Spiderbait.
SINGLES:
After a couple of weeks of moving house, it’s time for me to recommence the mid-week report.
One Direction release their third album next week, “Midnight Memories”, and ahead of the new set they give us the new song “Diana”, which could knock Eminem and Rihanna off the top spot with “The Monster” this week, but at the moment it’s a neck-and-neck battle for No.1. If 1D does take the top spot, it will be their first here in Australia.
Avicii with “Hey Brother”, Pitbull & Ke$ha’s “Timber”, Katy Perry’s “Roar”, and Taylor Henderson with “Borrow My Heart” should all retain their Top 10 status this week, and be joined by Bastille with “Of the Night”, and a possible returns for Guy Sebastian and “Like a Drum”, whilst Birdy’s performance of “Wings” (HP-25, TW-76) on ‘Dancing with the Stars’ on Tuesday night could boost the song either into the Top 10 or at least the Top 20.
Lily Allen looks set for a Top 20 debut with her first new material in over four years, “Hard Out Here”, as her last solo entry was “Who’d Have Known” (HP-54, Nov 2009), whilst she was also a guest on Pink’s recent Top 5 track “True Love” in July. “Demons” for Imagine Dragons (TW-30) should jump into the Top 20, as too John Legend with “All of Me” (NEW at #37) ahead of his tour alongside Alicia Keys in early December. “Rude” by Magic! debuted at No.77 this past week, and could leap into the upper Top 30 this week, whilst Tina Arena’s “Only Lonely” (NEW at #32) could stay stable this week.
Samantha Jade looks set for a Top 40 debut with her third single “Soldier”, whilst her previous single “Firestarter” just debuted at No.13 on the Russian singles chart. Also set for a forty-entry are the John Butler Trio with their first new material since February 2011’s last entry (“I’d Do Anything” HP-69), the new track entitled “Only One”, just ahead of Justin Bieber’s weekly track “PYD” featuring R. Kelly as guest vocalist, which along with Timomatic and “Everything is Allowed” could enter within the Top 50.
Lower 50: The new Icona Pop song “All Night” (New at #84) could jump up into the high Top 60 this week, as too The Vamps with “Can We Dance” (New at #90). Tinie Tempah and John Martin could enter within the sixty with “Children of the Sun” just ahead of New Politics and their track “Harlem”. There’s a possible top seventy entry for Akon with “So Blue” and Flight Facilities (with Micky Green) and “Stand Still”, whilst further new entries could come from The Wombats with “Your Body is a Weapon”, Harrison Craig and “Lift Your Spirit” and a possible entry for Radical Face and their tune “Welcome Home”.
