Eminem Week Two Sales Beat Lady Gaga Week One

Eminem has had a convincing win over Lady Gaga with the rapper’s second week sales beating the popstar’s first week sales by almost 25%.

Eminem ‘The Marshall Mathers LP2’ second week of sales beat the much-hyped Lady Gaga ‘Artpop’ first week tally by 20,096 sales to 15,685.

The Lady Gaga album was heading for a first week sales struggle when the first single ‘Applause’ failed to make the Top 10 on the ARIA chart in Australia and the second single ‘Do What U Want’ didn’t even make the Top 20.

In the USA ‘Applause’ stalled at no. 4 and ‘Do What U Want’ only made it to no. 13 prompting Lady Gaga to focus the blame on her long-term manager Troy Carter and fire him right before the ‘Artpop’ album was released. Lady Gaga is yet to appoint a new manager. She launched her new album unpiloted.

The international chart position of the first singles first chart positions in Australia suggests Lady Gaga is on the nose with fans and that seems to be reflected internationally. The initial UK chart sales predict Lady Gaga will move ahead of Eminem on Monday but the USA chart will not be available until midweek. The last Lady Gaga album sold 1,100,000 in the USA in its first week and 2,297,000 in total.
