The Los Angeles prosecutors office has officially charged Emmylou Harris with hit-and-run stemming from an October 1 incident where the singer she allegedly bumped another car while driving on the 405 freeway and kept going without stopping to exchange information or report the accident.
When the accident was first revealed, Harris’ people said that it was just a “‘garden-variety’ accident that happens every day on the 405” and that the singer didn’t even know she had hit another vehicle. So far, the amount of actual damage to the vehicle has not been revealed.
If convicted, Harris could receive up to six months in jail.
