Music legend Engelbert Humperdinck will sing for the Dalai Lama in New York in October.
‘The Dalai Lama Love Concert’ will be held at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse, New York on October 9 to support international relief efforts and help fund a new scholarship named for Bassel Al Shahade, the graduate student filmmaker who was killed in May while filming a documentary about violence in Syria.
Dave Matthews, Counting Crows, Cyndi Lauper, NAS and Nelly Furtado will join Engelbert at the event.
Yesterday, Engelbert also paid tribute to British entertainer Max Bygraves, who passed away in Queensland at the age of 89. “I am saddened to hear of the passing of Max Bygraves. He was an entertainment genius and a very dear man. My sincere condolences to his family. RIP”.
The new Engelbert compilation ‘Release Me – The Greatest Hits’ will be released by Universal Australia on September 15.
