Enrique Iglesias is have a pretty great year (not counting the hand injury from trying to grab a drone during a show).
El Perdon, the Nicky Jam track on which Enrique features, is number one on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs, Latin Airplay, Latin Digital Songs, Latin Streaming Songs and Latin Pop Songs, his current tour has surpassed one million tickets sold and, now, his huge hit from earlier this year, Bailando, has just surpassed one billion YouTube views.
That makes Bailando the first Spanish Language music video to reach such heights.
Iglesias went on Instagram earlier today to say “Thank you guys so much for getting Bailando Spanish version to 1 BILLION views. Incredible!!! Muchísimas gracias por lograr que Bailando versión en Español llegara a 1 billon de visitas!”
Enrique, the third and youngest son of Julio Iglesias, launched his career twenty years ago with his self-titled debut album and crossed over to English audiences in 1999 with the number one singles Bailamos and Be With You. Later hits included Hero (2001 / #3), Escape (2002 / #12), I Like It (featuring Pitbull) (2010 / #4) and Tonight (I’m F**kin’ You) (featuring Ludacris and DJ Frank E) (2010 / #4).
