Ernest Borgnine, one of America’s most loved and respected actors, has died in Los Angeles at the age of 95.
Ernest is best known for his role as McHale in McHale’s Navy. The show ran from 1962-1966 and earned him three Emmy nominations.
His name was in the credits to over 200 movies including the recent Sponge Bob SquarePants film for kids. His most recent appearance was in a guest role on ER in 2009.
Other credits included The Poseidon Adventure and The Dirty Dozen
Ernest died at Cedars Sinai Hospital in LA with his family by his side.
Last week, the entertainment world also lost Andy Griffith.
