Evanescence have gone into big band mode for their fourth album ‘Synthesis’. They have recruited an orchestra to rework their early work.
Composer/conductor David Campbell worked on the arrangements for ‘Synthesis’ under the direction of singer Amy Lee and producer William B. Hunt.
‘Synthesis’ will be the first album for Evanescence since 2011. After the world tour, the band took a three year break to work on solo projects. They made their live return in 2015 for Ozzfest but that that point had no recording plans.
In 2016 a vinyl box set was compiled which included a new version of the song ‘Even In Death’. Then earlier this year a rarities and b-sides album ‘Lost Whispers’ was released.
