One Christmas record seems to reappear every year on the British singles charts.
While many might think it would be Do They Know It’s Christmas by Band Aid (recently announced to be the second biggest selling single of the last 60 years), the new perennial is Fairytale of New York by The Pogues Featuring Kirsty MacColl.
That record is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year and the band has announced that the record company is going to re-release the track in a variety of different formats.
Another milestone this year…
It’s the 25th anniversary of Fairytale this Christmas and as a result the record company is releasing it on the following formats:
Digital Bundle and 7″ vinyl with the new artwork. The digital Bundle will consist of the Master, instrumental and Video which will be 99p each or £1.49 for the bundle.
The 7″ will be released in all good stores in the UK and US!
The digital Bundle version will be released 26th November 2012.
The vinyl will be released on the 3rd of December 2012.
In addition, the band will celebrate their 30th anniversary on Thursday, December 20 at London’s O2 with special guests Frank Turner and the Sleeping Souls.
