The Hoodoo Gurus will hit the wineries from today for their first gig in a while.
The Hoodoo Gurus A Day On The Green features The Angels, Baby Animals, James Reyne and Boom Crash Opera.
Dave Faulkner of the Gurus posted today,” We play our first A Day On The Green concert today at Sirromet Winery, Mt. Cotton (Queensland). I don’t know much about Sirromet’s wines: I believe the vineyard was established ten years ago and they also source a lot of their grapes from other regions (which is a sensible thing to do given the local climate). I’m a big fan of regionality in wine but sometimes that can be counter-productive. Like any primary producer, winegrowers are very vulnerable to extreme weather events and “hedging your bets” with a diversity of suppliers can be essential to maintain a healthy business.
“Anyway, enough about wine. We haven’t played a public show for quite a while so we’re champing at the bit to get out there tonight. If you’re thinking about coming down (up or across) to the show we play at around 7PM (give or take a few minutes either way). Get there early to enjoy the full line-up”.
The first gig today is at Sirromet Wines at Mount Cotton in Queensland.
Today’s schedule is:
2pm Boom Crash Opera
3.05pm James Reyne
4.15pm Baby Animals
5.55pm The Angels
7.15pm Hoodoo Gurus
The tour will then head to:
Bimbadgen Winery, Hunter Valley, November 10
Peter Lehmann Wines, Barossa Valley, December 1
