Electronic act Flume was the major winner of the Carlton Dry Independent Music Awards, held last night in Melbourne picking up four awards.
Flume took home the awards for Best Independent Album and Best Independent Artist as well as Best Independent Dance/Electronica album and Best Independent Dance/Electronica or Club Single at the event held at the Revolt studios in Kensington.
Retro rock act King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard won a $50,000 grant from Carlton Dry to go towards touring and recording as well as taking home the award for Best Independent Hard Rock, Heavy or Punk Album.
Newcomer Vance Joy also won two awards for Breakthrough Independent Artist and Best Independent Single/EP.
