French DJ and Producer Mehdi Benjelloun (aka Petit Biscuit) has a new song featuring JP Cooper.
Cooper previously performed on Jonas Blue’s ‘Perfect Strangers’, a UK Top 10 hit in 2016. He had his own UK hit with ‘September Song’ in 2016.
In a statement Cooper said, “I was so excited to get in the studio with Mehdi (Petit Biscuit) I’d heard some of his work and absolutely loved his sound. Genuinely I think this kid is a bit of a genius when it comes to electronic music.”
Petit Biscuit said, “I started to compose ‘We Were Young’ even before the release of my debut album Presence. I needed a lot of time with it, and meeting JP Cooper – who’s singing on the track – was the last push to finalize it. ‘We Were Young’ is like a hymn to an innocent love, a beautiful love… even a bit too beautiful to be true. ‘We Were Young’ really is a big blend of my pop and electronic influences, even going to gospel on the choruses. Working together with JP on the different vocal parts of the track was a real pleasure. His particular tone brought a lot of freshness to my electronic production.”
‘We Were Young’ (ft. JP Cooper) is out now via Petit’s all-independent label Petit Biscuit Music.
