The next Australia talent quest is a strange one. ‘I Will Survive: Priscilla’ is looking for a star to join the cast of the Priscilla stage show.
Auditions will kick off tomorrow in Brisbane and then head to Sydney, Perth, Adelaide and Melbourne.
The prize is $250,000 cash, a performance on Broadway, one month’s accommodation in New York and representation with a US agent.
The contest is open to male performers 21 and over.
‘I Will Survive: Priscilla’ is looking for someone who can sing, dance and act.
From the auditions, the individual performers will jump on the famous Priscilla bus and retrace the steps of the movie from Sydney to Alice Springs.
The final four will then be flown to New York to receive training for the role of Tick, played by Hugo Weaving in the movie.
Network Ten and FremantleMedia are producing the show. “I Will Survive is an exciting prospect for TEN. This is big, broad family entertainment with the unique backdrop of iconic locations in our own backyard.”
“The format is one that has captured the imagination of critics and audiences alike overseas, and we’re thrilled to bring it to Australian viewers for the first time.”
The show will screen later this year on TEN.
