G. Love and Special Sauce will celebrate the twentieth anniversary of their debut album by reuniting the original group lineup, G. Love, James “Jimi Jazz” Prescott and Jeffrey “The Houseman” Clemens for a new album and tour.
This is the first time the trio of members has worked together in eight years. The new album, Sugar, will be out April 22 on Brushfire Records while a 45-date tour is being assembled where the band will not only play music from the new album but also will do a full performance of their 1994 self-titled debut album.
Prescott said of the new album “We wanted to take it back to the old-school vibe of the first record, those rich, warm sounds from when we were rocking small clubs and going on that acoustic feeling.”
Guesting on Sugar are Merry Clayton, David Hidalgo of Los Lobos, Marc Brousard, Eric Kresno, Shamarr Allen and Kristy Lee.
