Garth Brooks next album has fried with his phone.
Backup! Backup! Backup! In this era of technology, it is important to make sure that everything that you’ve entrusted to digital media be backed up and the most important of it to be backed up a couple of times. Those that don’t follow these rules learn the hard way.
Case in point, Garth Brooks.
Brooks told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that he had six months worth of music ideas on his cell phone for his next album, at least until that phone decided to stop working.
Garth told the paper “Here’s where the old guy gets into technology, which is bad. All the new stuff which I’ve been working on for six months was on a phone that’s been fried, and I can’t get the phone to come back up. . . It’s like losing your briefcase back in the Nineties!”
Now Brooks has to rely on an IT tech to somehow pull the memory off of the dead phone to save ideas for what would become the country superstar’s tenth album (not counting his alter-ego Chris Gaines).
The same paper reports that Trisha Yearwood, a country star in her own right and Brooks’ wife, said that a planned Christmas duets album for the couple also isn’t going to make the deadline for this year.
The interviews can be seen at the Journal Sentinal’s website (Flash required).
