Gene Simmons has joked about his tongue with Engelbert Humperdinck.

The two performers teamed up to record Spinning Wheel for the Release Me singer’s latest album, Engelbert Calling. And while the pair were working together, things got ‘inappropriate’.

‘While Engelbert and I were posing for photos, we made jokes. The usual stuff guys do. Some [were] inappropriate for younger ears, so I’m not sharing,’ the KISS star told Page Six. ‘He was curious if my tongue was as long as he had heard. And I offered that I would normally stick my tongue out, but noticed the floor wasn’t all that clean.’

Engelbert’s two-disc record of duets includes sets with Elton John, Beverley Knight, Wynonna Judd, Willie Nelson and more. The album was released in the US and Canada on September 30 and in the UK earlier this year.

“It’s a great matter of pride to be on this album. Engelbert is ‘that’ guy, the one whose career spans over 50 years,’ Gene said in an interview with the Huffington Post.

“He contacted me and said, ‘Wouldn’t it be fun to sing a song together?’ I said, ‘Sure. Pick a time and place. I’ll be there.”

The Crazy Crazy Nights performer added while he ‘appreciates’ being called an ‘icon’ he takes more pride in the job he does.

‘Whatever it is you do in life you should do a great job at it,’ he told The Huffington Post

Engelbert is best known for his hits Release Me, The Last Waltz, After the Lovin’ and A Man Without Love.
