Genesis have news on the way tomorrow. Nobody is quite sure what.
A posting on their Facebook page shows this arty jumble of the Genesis name throwing off the shadow of a face, which they call their new logo, along with the statement “Stay tuned for some exciting Genesis news here tomorrow. In the meantime, here’s our new logo.”
A new career spanning documentary on the group was previously announced by the BBC and it is doubtful that the big announcement would be just more info on that project. There have also been rumors of a reunion of the original band but that was previously shot down by Steve Hackett.
The band was formed in 1967 by current members Tony Banks and Mike Rutherford along with Peter Gabriel, Anthony Phillips and Chris Stewart. Phil Collins joined in 1970. Various personnel changes over the years lead to the 80’s lineup of Bank, Rutherford and Collins who went on a lengthy hiatus in 1998. They got back together for the highly successful Turn It On Again: The Tour in 2007 but have been sidelined since, especially with Collins semi-retirement and revelation of no longer being able to play drums.
