Geoff Tate has fired the latest salvo in the battle with his old band, Queensrÿche, by saying that he will take his own version of the band on the road under the same name.
Tate was fired from the band by the other members back in June when they brought in Todd La Torre as their new lead singer. Since then, Tate has started a legal battle with the band over the ownership of the name; however, a Washington court did not allow a temporary injunction against the members of the group using the Queensrÿche name while the suit moved through the legal system.
Still, the majority of the promotional vehicles for the group, including their website, Facebook and Twitter accounts, are being controlled by Tate and he has used that control to post an announcement on the Queensrÿche Facebook page:

So, for the foreseeable future, there will be two bands touring under the Queensrÿche name, one with Tate and one with La Torre.
