There’s new music coming in 2017 from George Clinton and it will be on a new label.

Clinton has signed with Flying Lotus’ Brainfeeder label, an announcement that was made this morning on Los Angeles NPR station KCRW.

Flying Lotus, aka FlyLo and born Steven Ellison, is a multi-talent as a producer, electronic musician, DJ, and rapper. He started in the mid-2000’s supplying music to Adult Swim and released his first album, 1983, in 2006.

In 2015, FlyLo, Thundercat and Shabazz Palaces recorded an album together under the name WOKE with Clinton contributing to one of the cuts. The four artists are also playing the Afropunk Festival this coming weekend. They go from there to two nights at the Fox Theatre in Oakland (09/15 and 09/16) and one at the Hollywood Bowl (09/17).

The new signing was confirmed by Brainfeeder, FlyLo and Clinton on Twitter:
