George Clinton To Perform In Sydney and Melbourne

George Clinton will play two 50th anniversary shows in Australia in September.

In 1957 Clinton was a member of funk group The Parliaments. ‘(I Wanna) Testify’ was the first hit for the band. While the song was a US hit reaching no 20, the record label went bust at the same time bringing an end to the band. Clinto would re-record the song in the 70s with his new Parliament.

In Australia, Jon Stevens recorded a version of the song as the title track to his 2010 album ‘Testify’.
