George Michael has left the Austrian hospital he had been in since November and headed home to London where he revealed he nearly died from his recent bout of pneumonia.
George was released from hospital this week and gave a press conference outside his London home yesterday where he revealed “doctor’s spent three weeks keeping me alive”.
The singer is still not well but is now finally out of the hospital in Austria. He described the hospital as “the best place in the world I could have been”.
He said he was a lot worse than they were letting the media know. “It was touch and go for a couple of weeks. We played it down, I didn’t want to worry my fans too much,” he said.
The illness brought an end to the European leg of his Symphonica tour but Australian dates for March and April have so far not been affected.
George said at the conference that he will fulfil all missed dates during 2012 and promised an extra concert for Austria “for the doctor’s who saved my life”.
