Possibly the finest hip-hop line-up to ever visit Australia – Ghostface Killah, DOOM and Chino XL.
Wu-Tang Clan have certainly had their fair share of successful solo offshoots, but the most impressive is Ghostface Killah, who consistently drops quality albums outside the group.
His Fishscale and More Fish double was possibly the best Wu-Tang solo outing of all (alongside Raekwon’s Only Built 4 Cuban Linx and GZA’s Liquid Swords, both of which Ghostface appeared on).
DOOM, of course, is one of the most creative producers and rappers to emerge in the last decade, and he worked on tracks for both Fish albums, as well as delivering classics like Mm… Food as MF DOOM, as half of the DangerDoom project with Danger Mouse, and with Madlib as Madvillain.
The pair are coming to Australia, having just finished recording the DOOMStarks album Swift & Changeable, and they’re bringing one of the most talented rappers of the last few years, Chino XL (who is both an avid bodybuilder, actor and a member of MENSA).
Tickets for this landmark tour go on sale next Tuesday 1 May from OzTix for Adelaide, Sydney, Perth, and Brisbane, and Ticketmaster for Melbourne.
Check out ‘Victory Laps’ from DOOMStarks below, as well as a sampling of other great tunes.
