College rock stayers Gin Blossoms tour Australia for the first time ever next February.
This year the Arizonan band celebrate twenty-five years since their inception, and are only now making it to Australia.
Fans were wooed by their 1992 breakthrough album New Miserable Experience and the smash single ‘Hey Jealousy’, which pretty much defined college rock at the start of the ‘90s.
Granted, the band had a hiatus after the release of their 1996 album Congratulations I’m Sorry, but they returned to play an 80-date tour in 2002 and kept on recording, scoring two top 40 singles in the US from Major Lodge Victory. Their 2010 album No Chocolate Cake topped the Amazon chart and now they bring pristine guitar pop to Australia.
Tickets go on sale Friday 26 October from MoshTix and the venues for Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney, and OzTix and Heatseeker for Perth.
