We are less than three weeks away from the release of Giorgio Moroder’s first album of new material in thirty years, Deja Vu, and it sounds like it’s going to be one big dance marathon.
One of the originators of EDM (electronic dance music), Moroder hasn’t released a studio album since 1985’s Philip Oakley & Giorgio Moroder with the lead singer from the Human League. Even though he has occasionally produced in the years since (he won the 1997 Grammy for Best Dance Recording with Donna Summer for Carry On) he hadn’t been interested in putting his own name on any music.
Then came 2013’s Random Access Memory by Daft Punk which included the song Giorgio by Moroder. Soon, he was touring the world DJing, playing his own productions along with new remixes of many of the songs.
Deja Vu includes includes guest appearances from a number of artists including Sia, Charli XCX, Britney Spears, Foxes, Kylie Minogue, Kelis, Marlene and Matthew Koma.
